New Delhi: Indian politician, TV host and former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu was sentenced to one year in prison for torturing and killing a man on the road.
According to Indian media, the Supreme Court sentenced Indian politician Navjot Singh Sidhu to one year in jail in a 3-decade-old case of the death of a man in a road dispute. Navjot Singh Sidhu tortured a man along with his friend during a road brawl in Indian Punjab in 1988 after which he died.
The Supreme Court had imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on Sidhu and released him. The family of the deceased had filed a review petition against the verdict on which the Supreme Court sentenced Sidhu to one year in jail. Indian Punjab police will arrest Navjot Singh Sidhu on the orders of the court.
