According to the website related to the affairs of the Haram Sharif, the Kaaba was bathed in a soulful ceremony.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, representing King Salman, took part in the ceremony along with other dignitaries and had the privilege of bathing the Kaaba. Ghusl-e-Kaaba has been going on since the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to bathe the Ka’bah twice a year. In the ceremony, the inner walls of the Kaaba were cleaned with rose water, oud and musk. The floor of the Kaaba was cleaned with palm leaves and hands by mixing rose water in ab zam zam.
The mataf was evacuated from the pilgrims before bathing in the Ka’bah. The ghusl-e-Kaaba ceremony was scheduled to be held on August 13, which was postponed.
